Oozing luxury and old Hollywood glamour, the Aston Martin brand is known and loved across the world. This dedicated museum space in Oxfordshire celebrates the rich history of the masterfully crafted cars that bear its name.

Classic cars are the beating heart of this museum, as they boast gorgeous Aston Martin models from the 50s and 70s, well-known Nimrod racing models and the star in the collection, the Aston Martin A3. One of the most significant Aston Martin cars in existence, the elegant A3 is also the oldest known model.

There is an extensive scale model collection, trophies from famous racers such as Stirling Moss, Carroll Shelby and David Brown, as well as overalls, helmets and equipment worn and used by them over Aston Martin’s history. This is combined with a large photograph collection exploring Aston Martin’s public and private persona, as well as a fascinating collection of car engines giving an insight into the complex mechanics and expert craftsmanship that goes in to creating a classic car.

Step into the shoes of a certain British secret agent and explore these iconic luxury sportscars, and you can even pick some official 007 merchandise in the museum to shop to really look the part.",

Most of the houses, shops and other buildings have been dismantled, brought to Beamish and rebuilt here. Some – Home Farm, Pockerley Manor and the Drift Mine – were here already. All of the buildings are filled with furniture, machinery and objects, real artefacts from our designated collections. Whilst at Beamish visitors can enjoy unlimited free rides on our historic transport. Hop on board a Beamish tram to start your journey back in time. The tramway runs in a 1½ mile circuit of the museum with stops in or near each of the period areas. The Beamish fleet consists of six beautifully restored vehicles
Bexhill Museum offers something for everyone from local history and archaeology to fashion and Bexhill’s motor heritage The Technology collection is devoted to celebrating Bexhill’s role as the birth place of British Motor racing. You can see three vehicles representing different eras and technology: a reproduction steam driven 1902 Serpollet or ‘Easter Egg’, a 1958 mk III Elva sports racing car and the 1993 world record breaker Volta electric car. There are hands on displays so you can have a go at changing a car’s tyre, installing spark plugs and see how engines work. It was the 8th Earl De La Warr who secured the town’s place in history by hosting Britain’s first automobile races on the 19th May 1902 so you can see plenty of memorabilia about the Birthplace of British motor racing.",

Set across 26 acres, you’ll explore over forty carefully reconstructed shops, houses and industrial areas that represent the Black Country’s story. You’ll learn how steam power, human ingenuity and an increasingly interconnected world transformed this region into a manufacturing powerhouse. You’ll meet our historic characters who’ll tell you stories of what it was really like to live and work during this revolutionary period of history. Most importantly, you’ll see history brought to life before your eyes – you’ll hear the clang of hammers; smell the smoke billowing from red brick chimneys.

In 2018 the Museum has also received five cars from The Patrick Collection, a private collection which has fallen on hard times.
Built in 1907 by Hugh and Ethel Locke King, Brooklands became the place where this country’s most daring drivers and inventive engineers came during the sport’s most formative years. The World Land Speed Record was set here on three separate occasions, the Track hosted the first two RAC British Grands Prix in 1926 and 1927. Motorcycle racing started at Brooklands in 1908 and the Track quickly became home of many motorcycle riders, including Eric Fernihough and Noel Pope. The Museum is home to the Members’ Banking, the steepest part of the Brooklands race track, and has a wide collection of cars, motorcycles and bicycles, particularly from the heyday of the track until it closed in 1939. The motoring collection is displayed inside the surviving Motoring Village buildings, next to the iconic Brooklands Clubhouse. Brooklands was also one of the most prolific aircraft production sites in Europe. From A V Roe’s first trials here in 1907-08, through many decades of manufacture, no other place in Europe, has seen such achievements. Some 18,600 new aircraft of nearly 250 types were first flown, manufactured or assembled at Brooklands. The Museum’s collection of Brooklands aircraft spanning the last hundred years ranges from a replica of the aeroplane in which A.V.Roe carried out pioneering flight trials to Concorde G-BBDG. Additionally you can enjoy more than 30 buses and coaches in the London Bus Museum.",

The essence of transport is movement, so we are building a living museum where vehicles of yesteryear can be seen in action, where half-forgotten sounds of the past are brought back to life and where visitors can journey back in time by travelling on a few of the exhibits along the Museum’s streets. The museum has a diverse and ever expanding collection of historic and interesting vehicles. Whilst the most numerous of these are our fleets of trams, trolleybuses and buses, we also have a number of commercial vehicles, cars and steam vehicles, not forgetting the narrow gauge rolling stock that is in use on the East Suffolk Light Railway.",

The dedicated team of costumed interpreters guide visitors as they journey back to Hampshire’s past. Milestones is packed full of the things that ordinary people used in the past. Those people had to go to work, wash their clothes, eat, sleep, and have fun exactly as we do today – but the things they used were sometimes very different from what we use now. Milestones gives us an idea of what it might have been like to live in the past. And our ancestors would recognise the things here because they are the actual things they used. A bit later the new factory museum, called The Archive Room has also been made available to visitors who can book their experience through a factory tour.

The Archive Room is home to the full company archives, containing more than a century of artefacts, documents, photographs and footage that chart the unique history and heritage of the brand. Some of the more prominent items include a 1930s Leica camera belonging to the company’s founder, HFS Morgan, thousands of original press cuttings dating back to 1910, each beautifully documented in ‘scrap books’ by George Morgan (father of HFS), and original blueprints and historical parts from the earliest days of the company.

In the centre, seven cars are displayed and represent all eras and models, with a mixture of company heritage fleet and vehicles loaned by private owners. At launch, models including a 1910 Runabout, 1938 4-4 previously owned by HFS Morgan, a 1977 Plus 8 race car owned by Graham and Oliver Bryant, a 1 of 100 Aeromax and EV3 concept car will all be on display alongside other vehicles.
One of the great aircraft and car collections of the world, which is famous for its regular flying displays. The Shuttleworth Collection was established in memory of Richard Shuttleworth, who died in an air crash in 1940, at the age of 31. Richard Shuttleworth was an accomplished pilot and racing driver. He learnt to fly in the early 1930s, and in 1933 flew a single seater aircraft 6,000 miles from Old Warden to Delhi in twelve days. The veteran vehicles of all shapes and sizes are capable of being driven and ridden, and take part in parades at many of our main events, some can even be seen participating at other venues like Brooklands or in the historic London to Brighton Run! All of these vehicles have living histories and stories that Shuttleworth is safeguarding for the future. So when you look around at these vehicles today, it’s because of skilled and passionate engineers, volunteers, drivers, and riders they will all continue to drive and be ridden for future generations.",

The Science and Industry collection covers power, transport, manufacturing, communications, weapons, and clocks and watches. Key exhibits include the impressive Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft, and the huge ‘City of Birmingham’ locomotive. The Railton Mobil Special is a car that formerly held the world land speed record, while the Smethwick Engine, designed and built by James Watt, is the oldest working steam engine in the world. Thinktank also displays the third oldest working steam engine – Matthew Murray’s highly unusual Hypocycloidal Steam Engine. Transport exhibits include the only surviving Birmingham Tram, together with cars including a Star Benz, an Austin Seven and a Mini. It is a story that takes you from the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic, to the short-lived industrial adventure of the De Lorean sports car. Two global icons, both built in Belfast. Our diverse collections reveal stories of remarkable innovation and achievement. Harry Ferguson, spans both sky and land. A local pioneer of aviation whose famous tractor changed global food production for ever. Transport is part of the fabric of society and other dimensions to our story are reflected on our Co-Op milk float and Belfast Telegraph delivery lorry. The Irish Railway collection is unique on the island and must be seen to be truly appreciated.",
